History

Onderonian Stargazer

Onderonian Stargazer Following completion of its construction in 20 BBY, the recently built freighter was assigned to the Jedi Order to serve as a transport vessel to reinforce frontline worlds. At the recommendation of Jedi Commander Ahsoka Tano, and supported by Jedi General Anakin Skywalker, the vessel was named the Onderonian Stargazer in honor of the conclusion of the Onderonian Civil War. Frequently, the Onderonian Stargazer would transport passengers and supplies from Coruscant to Onderon on behalf of the Jedi Order.

Due to its service, the Onderonian Stargazer would become embroiled in the Siege of Onderon in 19 BBY. The Siege of Onderon began when General Grievous launched a major Separatist offensive to capture several worlds in what would later become known as the Outer Rim Sieges campaign. During the conflict the Confederacy of Independent Systems launched an attack upon Onderon, turning it into a fierce battleground once more. Attempting to run a Separatist blockade, the Onderonian Stargazer was damaged by a squadron of Vulture Class droid starfighters.

Returned to Coruscant, the Onderonian Stargazer was placed into an orbital repair yard to be restored to its original condition. The vessel was, however, rushed into service when the Separatists launched an attack upon Coruscant itself. With major repairs completed, the Onderonian Stargazer was temporarily transferred to the Coruscant Home Defense Fleet to assist with defending the planet from Separatist assault. Assigned to oversee the operation of Kinrath Squadron, a Flight Group of Alpha-3 Nimbus-class V-wing starfighters, the Onderonian Stargazer was one of the only vessels to survive the entire Battle of Coruscant.

The Onderonian Stargazer's return to the Jedi Order would be short-lived due to the Declaration of the New Order. Assigned to the Venator Class Star Destroyer Enterprise, the Onderonian Stargazer's mothership was assigned to Jedi General Gheagi Vledi and was sent to assist with the Siege of Onderon. Shortly after arriving, General Vledi and her Padawan, Welmur Trogbau were recalled to Coruscant and travelled aboard the Onderonian Stargazer as not to recall the support of the needed Star Destroyer for the Onderonian Insurgency. Bringing along a small contingent of Clone Troopers for support, the Jedi Master set out for Coruscant.

During their return trip to Coruscant, Order 66 was declared and transmitted throughout the galaxy by Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine. Received by Clone Captain CT-3751 "Pax," the small contingent of Clone Troopers set out to execute the Jedi Master and her Padawan. Sensing something amiss aboard the ship during her meditation, Master Vledi was able to defend herself from the attack launched by the Clone Troopers and after a tense standoff the Troopers were defeated, but Padawan Trogbau was severely wounded by blaster fire. Utilizing the Medical Bay of the Onderonian Stargazer, Master Vledi was able to ascertain that her Padawan's injuries were severe and that he would die without immediate treatment. Discovering the fall of the Jedi Order and with little recourse, Master Vledi set course for her homeworld of Rodia and chose to try to heal her Padawan through the Force. Using all of her strength she was able to heal her Padawan but fell into a coma in the process.

Utilizing autonavigation, the Onderonian Stargazer continued on course and arrived successfully at Rodia several days later. Due to Master Vledi's heritage as a Rodian, the Rodian Government granted emergency humanitarian permission for the Onderonian Stargazer to land in the Rodian Capital Iskaayuma. Receiving emergency treatment at the city hospital, Master Vledi was healed at the expense of her and her Padawan's safety as their location had been reported to the Galactic Empire. Three Star Destroyers were deployed to recover Master Vledi and Padawan Trogbau. Overwhelmed and outlaws to the ruling Chattza Clan, Master Vledi sacrificed herself so that Padawan Trogbau could escape with the Onderonian Stargazer. Despite his young age, Padawan Trogbau was able to successfully evade the orbital blockade and V-Wing interceptors sent to recover him and his vessel.

Separate Ways

Separate Ways Hiding out in the Outer Rim Territories, Padawan Trogbau traveled to Onderon looking for help from the Onderon Insurgency led by Saw Gerrera. With the planet annexed by the Empire, Padawan Trogbau had few options available to him and the Onderonian Stargazer was attacked by the Imperial Fleet while on approach to the surface. With time Padawan Trogbau was able to connect with Saw Gerrera's forces on the surface, but it was not a welcome arrival. A detachment of Imperial Troopers had been sent to eliminate Gerrera's forces. While the initial team refused to execute civilians, Gererra used the opportunity to escape to build his forces. Included in the efforts of Gererra to build a stronger fighting force, the freedom fighter coopted the freighter from Padawan Trogbau.

Taken to a hidden base, the Onderonian Stargazer underwent a retrofit to meet the needs of the Onderon Insurgency. While the initial Jedi design had been outfitted with weaponry due to the Clone Wars, the weapons were not sophisticated enough to meet the needs of the guerrilla campaign that Gererra was planning. The laser turrets were replaced with LC-10bW Laser Cannon Turrets produced by Taim and Bak. The passenger cabins were removed to restore the cargo holds of the traditional YT-2000 with crew and passenger accommodations provided by bunks. Multiple registrations were filed on behalf of the vessel, allowing the crew to switch between any number of false transponder codes with ease. The vessel was also repainted, removing the Jedi markings and establishing a more traditional look for the craft. Rechristened Separate Ways, in reference to the insurgency walking away from the Empire, the freighter began running transport missions in support of the insurgency.

Serving for several years, the Separate Ways was severely damaged while on a freight mission to Sullust. The native Sullustans had agreed to transfer a contingent of E-11 Blaster Rifles to Gererra's Partisans. While preparing to depart from the planet, the Imperial Garrison traced the Separate Ways to a series of thefts on other Outer Rim worlds. At the direction of the Regional Governor, the Separate Ways was ordered detained. A firefight ensued in which the Separate Ways suffered a critical hit to its core superstructure and lost power. The vessel was captured and its crew arrested for crimes against the Empire. The Seperate Ways was placed into impound.

Held in impound for several years, the Separate Ways was transferred to the custody of the Sullustan Government by the Imperial Security Bureau. Due to its damage, the Separate Ways was interned in an orbital junkyard with the intention of being decommissioned and its disassembled. After several months derelict, the Separate Ways was sold for scrap and purchased by Theksol Faurpugg, a young Aqualish Bounty Hunter through the support of crime lord Juktyn Heknaum. The Separate Ways was reconstructed from core to hull and its systems upgraded to modern specifications. Several sections of the ship were refitted with modular components from older Corellian designs during the repair; however, Faurpugg was killed in action while trying to recover a Corellian smuggler for Jabba the Hutt and was returned to an Imperial impound.

Corellian Spike

Corellian Spike Purchased at auction from the Imperial Impound on Sullust, ownership of the Separate Ways transferred to Indra Draaskes of Corellia. Renamed the Corellian Spike in honor of the sabacc variation, Draaskes established the vessel as a passenger ferry registered out of Canto Bight. A destination world for the wealthy, Canto Bight was filled with casinos and racetracks catering to wealthy tourists, gamblers, and war profiteers. Befitting its new role as a passenger transport, the Corellian Spike's weapons were removed as many of its passengers found them to be garish, but the ship's shields were upgraded with a 49-v99 Deflector Shield Generator. A large passenger lounge was also installed on the lower levels, offering an impressive view of space.

While the Corellian Spike was frequently booked months in advance, the vessel was not considered luxurious enough for such an important route by most passengers. Further, its accommodations were not to the standard of most guests after booking. This, coupled with the gambling addiction of Indra Draaskes, led to the Corellian Spike frequently being used as collateral in high stakes gaming. During a high stakes game of its namesake Corellian Spike Sabacc, Indra Draaskes found herself on the losing side of several hands. Running low on funds and knowing that her passenger vessel was worth nearly $50,000 credits, Indra chose to enter her vessel as collateral for a final hand. While Indra's had a nearly unbeatable Full Sabacc, her competitor - Worrenn Taanorr - had the Idiot's Array, the best hand possible in Sabacc.

While accepting his winnings, Worrenn Taanorr was confronted by Indra Draaskes aboard the vessel. Draaskes insisted that Taanorr's hand was fixed and that she was still the rightful owner of the Corellian Spike. A fight ensued in which Draaskes attempted to kill Taanorr with a vibroknife. He was able to deflect the attack, stabbing Draaskes in the process. The Canto Bight Police - whom had been paid off by Draaskes - issued a warrant for the arrest of Taanorr for the murder of Draaskes; however, he was able to escape from the planet with the vessel.

Vulptex

Wily Vulptex Following the incident at Canto Bight and now wanted for murder, Worrenn Taanorr used the Corellian Spike to travel to Crait to meet in secret with his old friend former Imperial Senator Garm Bel Iblis of Corellia. Finding the Crait Outpost to be a bare-bones, mostly underground facility, Taanorr was quickly greeted by his old friend Bel Iblis and shared what had happened. Seeing the opportunity available to them due to their shared experiences, Bel Iblis agreed to continue to support Taanorr as an operative in the nascent Alliance to Restore the Republic, restoring his identity of Willian Targaryen.

Seeing the advantages of incorporating the YT-2000 into their operations, Bel Iblis agreed to secretly arrange for the Corellian Spike to be modified to support the needs of the Alliance. Having lost its weapons as a passenger transport, the Corellian Spike was refitted to incorporate dual laser cannon turrets on both its dorsal and ventral surfaces. A forward laser cannon was installed along with an ion cannon designed to assist with disabling enemy craft. While the shield grid for the craft was enhanced for a ship its size, the reactor was upgraded and enhanced to meet the power demands of the additional weapon emplacements. Befitting its new role supporting the Alliance to Restore the Republic, countermeasures were installed to assist the vessel with overcoming attacks from Imperial vessels.

Following its extensive retrofit, the transport named the Wily Vulptex after the large, fox-like canids of Crait. The vessel was relaunched on espionage missions on behalf of the new Rebel Alliance under the leadership of Commander Targaryen.

Cockpit

Wily Vulptex Cockpit The Cockpit of the Wily Vulptex is located in the center forwardmost section of the YT-2000 craft and is the primary control center for the vessel. Approximately 4 meters in length, the cockpit of the Wily Vulptex has been modified from the original configuration of the craft. In the standard cockpit design of the YT-2000 the pilot sat in the front while the co-pilot was situated on a raised platform immediately behind the pilot's station, with no room for any others in the cockpit. The Wily Vulptex design has been modified to comfortably seat three people within the cockpit of the craft. The pilot is isolated at the forward workstation directly below the primary viewport, giving the operator priority access to the flight and navigational controls of the vehicle.

Behind the pilot, two workstations have been installed to assist with alleviating some of the responsibilities of the pilot. The workstation mounted on the starboard bulkhead was where the primary weapon and defensive controls were located and includes the interface for the targeting computer, sensor scopes, and similar systems. Located along the bulkhead opposite the tactical station, the port wall includes a large technical station that can be used to monitor all systems aboard the craft. The workstation is duplicated in the maintenance section of the main deck.
